Using alternative refills in airwick freshmatic- revisited

For those that are having trouble - here is the little white line painted on the nozzle to make the device think I've splashed out on a genuine refill

Hey love the mod, I did something similar myself. The nozzle I had was white, I tried making my own black lines on there but it never worked. In the end I drew some lines on a piece of paper, put a layer of sticky tape on each side to protect it from getting wet. I then glued it to the side of the nozzle. It was a little fiddly what with trying to make it work but it works every spray now. Shame on Air Wick for trying to force people to buy there own expensive brand of refills. I can now use the pound shop ones which smell just as nice. Screw you Air Wick! :)

I have an original Airwick Freshmatic refill and it was not working, red light flashing after first spray. I had already thrown out the original canister so no possibility of swapping the nozzles out. I took a permanent marker and drew two black lines leaving a space in the middle and now it works. But what irks me is that it's an airwick refill!! I spent the extra bucks and still had issues, arg!
